Federico Iorio Esposito graduated in 2023 with a M.Sc. in Materials Engineering and Nanotechnology at Politecnico di Milano. During his thesis work, he focused on the development of raw earth-based sustainable buildings by assessing the mechanical properties of soil mixtures with graphene. He is currently working at Politecnico di Milano as a Graduate Research Fellow in a project funded by the PNRR, about the definition of End of Waste criteria for recycled materials obtained by innovative national processes (polymers, manufacture, metals), through a Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment (LCSA).

Research topics:

  • ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY
  • SUSTAINABLE BUILDINGS

Detailed topics:

Federico’s research topics are centered about the use of sustainable materials and practices in polluting industrial sectors. As a matter of fact, while working on the PNRR-funded LCSA project, he is currently following several thesis works on the use of raw-earth materials in the building sector, with special focus on the mechanical and thermal-hygrometric properties.
