1990 PhD degree in Industrial Chemistry (Politecnico di Milano).

She is permanent staff at Politecnico di Milano, Dipartimento di Chimica, Materiali ed Ingegneria Chimica “G. Natta”. She is associate professor at Politecnico di Milano, School of Industrial Processes Engineering. She has in charge the course “Functional Ceramic Materials Production” for the 2nd level degree in “Chemical Engineering” and “Materials Engineering and Nanotechnology” and she is in charge of the course “Industrial Microbiology” for the 2nd level degree in “Chemical Engineering” and “Food Engineering”.

Since January 2018 she is Raw Materials Ambassador

Research topics:

  • WATER TREATMENT
  • HYBRID ORGANIC-INORGANIC HYBRID MATERIALS FOR DRUG AND FEED APPLICATION
  • STRUCTURED MATERIALS AND COATING DEPOSITION

Detailed topics:

Her present research activity regards: 1) preparation and characterization of materials for environmental applications and circular economy; in particular sorbents materials (i.e. clays, organoclays, activated carbon, modified activated carbon, geopolymers, graphene oxide-based materials) for metal capture and wastewater treatment; 2) preparation and characterization of materials for feed and drug delivery applications; 3) structured materials production and coating deposition.

Her past research activity has regarded 1) both solid oxides (SOFCs) and Polymer Electrolyte Membrane (PEM-FCs) fuel cells application; and 2) preparation and characterization of heterogeneous catalysts for energy production and environmental protection.
